The CCD64 is back illuminated which maximizes the quantum efficiency in the low energy X-ray region. A anti-blooming facility improves the dynamic range by preventing charge spilling into adjacent pixels. The devices include on-chip temperature sensors, two output amplifiers for redundancy and dump gate and drain for windowing.
